Is there a way where you can easily tweak your business, and see an immediate sales boost?

7 Sales Psychology Hacks You’ve Probably Never Heard BeforeI know it sounds impossible, but did you know you can boost your sales with a simple psychological trigger?

The human brain is amazing and if you find the right technique to cause someone’s mind to flip to your way of thinking you make the sale, do it!

Think about your last spur of the moment purchase. Why did you hoard different colors of yarn, those $100 gems, or your unicorn-themed thimble?

It was an emotional desire brought on by a trigger set forth in your brain which caused you to buy these things.

Everything is psychology.

So how can you apply this to your business?

1. The “FREE” Word

Do not underestimate the power of the word “free”. This technique may have been used traditionally but it works most of the time. It’s not always suitable for your promos, but if you get a chance to try it, do it and see your conversions increase.

2. Benefits Over Product Features

When writing ad copy and your product descriptions, show your customers the benefits it will bring to their lives rather than just writing about the features of your product. Benefits will help customers realize why they need your product rather than the customer has to think how these features will help them. Do the work for them.

3. Use Trust Words & Emblems

Establish rapport with your customers by including words and emblems on your store/invoice from brands/things that people already trust. For example, use the emblem of PETA if your products are cruelty free, the credit card company emblems that you are using as mode of payment, USPS as ePacket items are delivered via USPS. You can post SSL certificate images (if your site has one installed). And you can highlight certification certificates if the product you’re selling has been approved by one, like the FDA.

4. The Power Of Percentage Discounts

If you are selling an item priced at $50, and then discount it to $25, you would have two options. You could say that the item is $25 off, or you could say that you save 50%. It has been shown that using the percentage discount in this case converts at a much higher rate. Why? Because even though it is mathematically the same discount, 50 is a bigger number than 25, so it makes the customer feel like they are saving more money.

5. Paint Pictures & Overcome Obstacles with Photos

Photos/pictures can do more than just show off the product. You can also use them to help the customer imagine themselves using the product – and use them to overcome objections they may have about the product (e.g. have a picture that shows you or a model wearing the product).

6. HD Photos

Etsy have shown that if customers can clearly see the product on pictures, it noticeably impacts conversions. Customers like to see finer details of items that they buy, and it also makes your store look more professional – building trust between you and them.

7. Sense Of Urgency

Customers are more likely to buy an item if they see a reason that it is discounted. The reason for this is because it increases the sense of urgency for the customer. For example, if an item is on sale at 50% off as a Mother’s day sale, then the customer has another added element of scarcity: they know that when Mother’s day ends, that the sale will disappear – and so it reinforces that they need to act now and not miss out.

Getting customers is not always easy, but with the right strategy, you can start building your list of happy customers. Keep looking for new ways to attract your target customers. Be experimental and playful toward what you are doing and literally ruthless about testing what works and what doesn’t.
