Why settle for chalkboards you can buy from the department store when you can easily do it yourself? This is nothing new, it’s been done many times before but it’s always fun to add your personal touch to projects and make them your own.

Impress your co-exhibitors and sellers with an inexpensive DIY chalkboard on your table. You can place them in your craft show table, use it as a pricing sign, or a simple greeting board with a thoughtful greeting for holiday craft show guests.

Materials you will need:

  1. Plywood
  2. Saw {or get the pieces cut at hardware store}
  3. {4} 1 x 3 x 6 boards cut to custom size
  4. 4 flat braces and 16 upholstery nails
  5. Wood Glue
  6. Clamps
  7. Brad Nailer {you can use screws or hammer and nails}
  8. Paint or Stain for frame
  9. Styrofoam Roller or paint brush
  10. Chalkboard Paint or Plaster of Paris and black paint to make your own version
  11. Hanging Hardware

Make a quick-and-easy chalkboard that you can use during craft shows by Ryan Penir. Just spray a few coats of chalkboard paint on a plywood board. You’ll be writing in no time!

You can turn any object with a flat, smooth surface into a blackboard. You can use materials such as enamel bakeware, or you can use anything that you find lovely, such as an old mirror or an unused window.
