Perhaps you are one of those people that think that if they create some pretty handcrafts every other thing will fall in place.

5-Reasons-Youre-Not-Getting-Sales-On-EtsyYou are wrong; your product can’t just sell itself!

The truth is Etsy shoppers have needs and steps that they go through that persuades them to buy. If your marketing is not meeting those requirements it is probably the reasons your product is not selling.

Are you wondering why you’re not getting enough Etsy sales? Here are 5 reasons behind it and some tips on how to fix them:

1. Your product photos are bad

Etsy is a very visual selling platform (with a frequent rate of being bookmarked to Pinterest), and so better photos almost always equals more sales. Even fairly decent photos could be replaced with high-quality, more enticing images to up your sales. Sometimes all it takes is trying out a cleaner background, placing the item on a model (if it’s wearable), or otherwise showing the item “in action” or with better lighting. You can try some craft photography editing apps to enhance your product photos.

2. You are not using the right keywords and tags in titles to your advantage

You have to use the right keywords and tags in your titles so that customers can easily find items similar to yours with what they actually type into the search bar. You should put yourself in the shoes of your customers on how they would be able to find your product within Etsy’s relevant search algorithm. For example, if you are selling scented candles, your target market will more likely be typing in “Lemon Scented Candles” into the search bar instead of whichever the brand name of the scented candle is.

3. You do not have enough products in your page listings

It is not enticing to see a store that looks empty and undependable. Etsy hosts a large volume of products, and their search engine will only show 250 pages of those products at a time for wide and general searches. If you have listed hardly any of your products, there’s a very big chance that you have lost your stores position from other product sellers, and your target market will not be able to reach you.

4. Your product descriptions needs to be improved

Putting up a very great picture of your product and saying it is the best among others is not enough to convince your potential customers to buy your products. Your target market would more likely want to know the finer details of your product. Fill your descriptions with the prime features of your products and the benefits of your target market will get once they get your product.

5. You are not linked from any social network/media outlets.

You should be able to recognize that social media is another channel and source to redirecting your target market to your Etsy shop. Pinterest and Instagram are one of these social media outlets which would entice your customers to your products due to its photographic nature. It is impossible to say that your target market is not there, let your presence be known on these social media outlets to bring in potential customers to your Etsy store for product purchases.
